Applying KAIZEN principle
Some of the behind the scenes during project execution can be very challenging and stressful.
I was going through my phone and found this picture from 2018, looking at the boxes before me and myself pressing phone could look like a leisure or relaxation mood but that was actually me having to deal with hundreds of mobile phone configuration, troubleshooting, response to feedback from one hundred Primary Health Centres, drafting training materials with my boss, reporting, monitoring and evaluation... for an intervention, Appointment Reminder and Defaulters Tracing System in Lagos State.
However, what makes the work that looks like a most difficult easier to execute is two things I learnt well from my boss, time/energy management and KAIZEN (Kaizen principle is a Japanese management philosophy that literally translates as 'continuous (Kay) improvement (zen)'. According to the Kaizen definition, the method helps to improve the productivity of an organization. It does this by continuously taking simple steps that lead to improvements). This principle was very helpful and I realised my 25 months during the project was very productive and the best time I have practice writing(planing) on paper perfectly well.
Lesson: Every minute you spend in planning saves 10 minutes in execution; this gives you a 1,000 percent Return on Energy! With greater confidence in yourself and your abilities, you will set bigger goals, make bigger plans and commit yourself to achieving objectives that today you only dream about. - Brian Tracy
