What we are going to create with this new project is going to be BIG!

The end goal is to promote and build a peaceful society, which the youths are very important driver. The concept of the project was based on SDGs 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Imagine the first three targets of the goal:

16.1 Significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere.

16.2 End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children.

16.3 Promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensure equal access to justice for all.

To make the project more interesting, we got a partnership to use a newly built ICT center in the community, Gbodo ICT Center with amazing facilities and a safe space for children at Ijeshatedo, Lagos. This is already putting more flesh into the project as quality education, effective communication and knowledge sharing is important is promoting peace.

Imagine what can be achieved in the SDGs 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. One of the targets of goal 4 we are focusing on is;

By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development.

The feedback I have been receiving from the project has been very encouraging, learning has been fun for these kids through the storytelling hub, music, art, constructive engagement and mentoring.

We are leaving no one behind, this a pilot phase of this project that will last for 3 months at Ijeshatedo community. Can you imagine if we can replicate this same project that will impact the life of that one child in Ajegunle, Makoko, Badagary, Mushin, Oshodi and maybe out of Lagos to other states.
